TONIGHT! (7/25/14) we are opening for KONGOS at Waterplace Park in Providence, RI for The 95.5 WBRUDunkin’ Donuts Summer Concert Series. This is a FREE show and we go on at 7:00 PM. We are incredibly excited to share the stage with KONGOS and are beyond gracious that 95.5 WBRU would invite us to be part of this event. We look forward to seeing you all there!
It’s been an exciting week leading up to this event. 95.5 WBRU has been spinning our tracks in regular rotation. We also filmed a live set and did an audio interview with the Home Bru’d crew which can be found here: http://www.wbru.com/home-brud-presents-satellites-fall/. This is easily one of the best interviews we’ve ever done. WBRU did an AMAZING job with the footage. We performed a mix of material. A song from the frist EP, a single, and some new jams. Check it out. We also cut a radio spot were Davey & Mark direct WBRU’s listeners to check out our Hume Bru’s Sessions at their website.
Here’s a song from our first EP. Actually, it’s the only song from that time that is still in our live set. If the video doesn’t play just follow the link in the paragraph above.
Here’s some footage of a new track we opened up our performance a Freak Fest 4 with at Fete ballroom in Providence, RI. Our cutest fan, Ali Baxter, helped out on synth and Mark did his best Darth Maul impression for the occasion.
“The New England Music Awards are presented every year to the musicians who call New England their home and whose dedication, spirit, and achievements over the last year have without a doubt established themselves as a contributing force to the most robust and diverse music scene in the country. The NEMA nominating committee consists of journalists from music publications, radio personalities, talent buyers, and record label execs collectively representing all six New England states.
The goal of NEMA is to celebrate and recognize some of the areas best musical achievements. Every year NEMA will nominate over 100 artists and/or bands spanning a number of categories and genres of popular music in New England, including the coveted individual state awards which will select one band/act from each of the six states as its Best In State.
The NEMA Nomination Committee will also select one winner in three Individual Award categories which are presented to the artist or band for their years of outstanding achievement and contribution to the New England music scene.”
GoLocalProv has recently named our very own Davey Moore as person to look out for in 2014 in their article titled: “14 to Watch in RI in 2014.” Along side Rhode Islanders such as former Mayor Buddy Cianci, Davey was named for his work supporting the New England music scene and RI artists through Midday Records. The article talks about the labels compilation series, The Midday Social, and quotes Davey from a previous interview with the publication. Pretty damn cool!
Wow! Opening for Andrew W.K. at The Palladium in Worcester, MA was a pretty amazing experience. Not sure what the final numbers were, sold out or not, but that room was packed! Thanks to all of you who came out to party hard and celebrate the holidays with us. Thanks to The Midnight Society, The October Accord, and Cockpunch. (Nope, that wasn’t a misspelling.) We don’t often play mixed genre bills so it’s nice to see a crowd with varying tastes in music so supportive of all the acts the rare times we do play these shows. The Worcester music scene is a very inclusive scene that embraces all local hardworking artists. Much respect. Thank you for having us.
